Hi there, we embedded a newsletter signup form into our sidebar/ footer via the embed html code rather than pop up. this way spambots seem to auto-fill out the form & submit, I frequently receive a long list of "unconfirmed" signups (since obviously, the bots will not go through the double opt-in). Integrating (invisible?) captcha would instantly solve this. else I really like forms even though they are at the very beginning, but the unconfirmed list currently is useless since you will not get a clear picture of how successful it is due the the messed up list.
